Do you only work with advertising agencies and other creative businesses?
Not at all — but it's where Kevin's spent his career. He's done tax and accounting for advertising agencies, design studios, marketing shops, media agencies, online businesses, photographers, and other creative businesses since 1992, so if that's you, we already speak your language. Generation CFO works just as well for any growing business that needs real books and real answers each month.
What's actually different between Generation CFO and an inexpensive bookkeeper?
A bookkeeper enters transactions. We enter them too — then a CPA reviews everything so your books are accounting-worthy, not just typed in, and you get an actual conversation about what the numbers mean and what to expect every month. It's the difference between data entry and someone watching your business.
We're small. Is this overkill for us?
Generation CFO was built for exactly this size of business — too big to wing it with a spreadsheet, too small to justify hiring a full in-house finance department. Is tax prep included?
Not by default, assuming you trust your current tax person. We work with them to project your taxes and hand off books clean enough to make their job easier! If you're looking for a change, we can talk about that as well.
Do you use AI to do our books, or does an actual person look at them?
Both. We use proprietary software and AI — including Forecasht, the forecasting tool we built — to stay fast and efficient, but a CPA still reviews your books every month before the books are closed. AI doesn't get to sign off; we do.
